Your Life Vessel

Let me ask you a few questions:

 

How long are you in your car each day..?

How long are you in your house each day..?

How long do you spend at work each day..?

 

You would say when it comes to your car, house and job you take a fair bit of pride doing whatever you can to keep them healthy and up to scratch right? Your car you keep tidy and take to the mechanics every so often for a service. Your house you keep clean, decorate it with nice things and upgrade it with renovations. Your job you make sure you do the best you can to keep your boss happy and the business alive...

 

So.... Why the fuck don't we look after ourselves this way?

 

Our Body is a Vessel

 

A lot of us have so much pride in things... Materialistic things that don't even matter that much at the end of the day. We are happy to spend $90 a week for a mobile phone but when it comes to spending $67 a week for x4 coached training sessions and invest in ourself we hang on, it is madness!! We may spend 1-2 hours in our car a day, 12 hours in our house and 8-10 hours at work... We spend 24 hours of our day in our own body, that's 24 out of 24 hours. Every single hour, minute and second is spent in our own vessel, yet we find ourself filling it with poisons (alcohol and drugs), fried chicken, smokes and unnecessary sugars like soft drinks. If we put shit fuel in our car how is it going to perform? How long will it last..? 

 

As half of society munches on fried food, sips on energy drinks and does minimal exercise they still wonder why the hell they feel tired all day... Better go see a doctor, I wonder what's up!?? This seems to be a usual case in my observations and you just have to shake your head, these people know exactly why they feel like shit every day. If you put complete shit in your body and abuse it like you get another one then guess what you are going to feel like every day.. SHIT! I refer to this type of thing as ignorance...

 

'Exercise is a celebration of what your body can do, not a punishment of what you have to do.'

 

So all the lovely folk reading this and including myself, this blog is almost a reminder to look after ourself. We all know what we should and shouldn't be doing but when I say we live in our bodies 24 hours a day it puts it into perspective. YOU are your biggest asset! If you lose your car, get another one. If you lose your house you can rent for a while or stay at a family/friends house, sure it sucks but it is an option. If you lose your job, find another one. If you lose your life.... That is it... Done...

 

The Gift of Life

 

Okay, so the year is 2017 on planet Earth. 100 years ago things were a little tougher for humans, 200 years ago they were even tougher. Would you say we are pretty lucky to live in this era? 

 

Let's break that down even more. Apparently the Earth has been around for 4.6 billion years... 4.6 billion freaking years ago! As you read this in comfort, fully clothed, full of food, rich with hydration from a computer or perhaps a computer in your hand most likely... Just remember how lucky we are to be able to walk this planet in this era. The chances of you being born within this time is unbelievable! Imagine being born even 300 years ago how much harder it would of been! We haven't even touched on the sperm race, the chances of your parents meeting each other or the chances of your grandparents meeting each other, there is way to many variables to calculate!

 

'Take care of your body, it is the only place you have to live in.'

 

What I am trying to get at is YOU have a gift! The odds of you being alive right now are literally something we cannot calculate, there is no ratio to say the chances of you being alive in this current time. Sure, we should all enjoy a drop of alcohol and sneak in some naughty food every now and then, let's just remind ourself not to abuse it. Personally I think if you aren't exercising in one way or another in this day and age you are in certainty to live an unnecessary painful and unhappier life than you need to. Humans are designed to run, lift and jump, we weren't designed to sit... for hours!! 

 

Life is for living! Taste things, smell things, touch things, experience things, feel things, hear things and enjoy every moment you can! It is optional what we do to our bodies and quite frankly I think it is very selfish to abuse it in ways we don't want if there are people out there who don't get a choice. In saying that, it is our own 24 hour a day vessel to do whatever we want with, use it wisely. :)
